Bluebonnet's product uses a blend of Magnesium Aspartate and Magnesium Oxide with Vitamin B6. While Aspartate improves bioavailability, the high combined magnesium dose, including the less absorbable oxide, may cause digestive issues.

Bluebonnet Magnesium & Vitamin B6 aims to address a wide array of health goals by combining two forms of magnesium: Magnesium Aspartate (400mg) and Magnesium Oxide (400mg), along with 25mg of Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6). The inclusion of Magnesium Aspartate is a significant advantage, as it is generally absorbed much better than magnesium oxide, making it more effective for systemic benefits like energy, brain health, mood, heart, and bone support. However, the presence of 400mg of magnesium oxide means a portion of the magnesium will still have limited absorption, and the combined 800mg elemental magnesium per serving is a very high dose that might exceed daily requirements for many individuals and could lead to digestive upset. The Vitamin B6 component is well-dosed and effective.
